I saw this video a little while back (seems like it's been updated since then?; graphically, it's a little better than what I recall…). It's great if you assume all the stats are correct (Are 80% of companies really using Linkedin as their PRIMARY tool to find employees? Hmmm… Maybe!) Regarding “Social media has overtaken porn as the #1 activity on the web”, I'd say more like porn is overtaking social media (Twitter, at least), along with assorted spammers of so many varieties. I saw that video the other day. It is very well done and a great way to “justify” it to the naysayers. The numbers can make your head spin.
I agree that we need to be sure of the numbers, but even if they are exaggerated by 50%, what power! What a way to make a difference to ppl and organizations!
